Kancil (English: Lesser Mousedeer) or also known as Pelanduk (in most communities in Malaysia and Indonesia), it is the smallest species of only four extant species in the family and infraorder Tragulina Tragulidae. Length measuring only 45 centimeters, with a weight of two pounds, making it one of the smallest ungulat. Kancil would prefer rocky forest and found in tropical forests of Southeast Asia. Tragulidae family are widely between Oligocene Epoch (34 million years ago) until the Miocene Epoch (about 5 million years ago), but almost no change since that time and, thus, is a family of primitive ruminant animals. This family have four stomach chambers to menapaikan difficult digest plant foods, but the third curve is not growing properly. Similar to other species in the family Tragulidae, deer do not have horns, and short and skinny legs.
