Cekodok Bawang/Onion Fritters

Cekodok bawang

Cekodok bawang

Cekodok bawang

Fritters are very common snacks in Malaysia. Cekodok bawang is also commonly known jemput jemput bawang. It is called ‘jemput’ because of the bite-size of the fritters. They are crunchy on the outside and nice and fluffy on the inside. Beside onions you can use other main ingredients like anchovies, corn kernels, onions or shrimps in it. This is a simple fritters compare to the more elaborate ones that I made before. You can check out my previous posting here. For this all you have to do is mix all the ingredients and drop the batter by a spoonful into the oil and shallow fried it up instead of deep fried. As usually this is serves with chili sauce. You can serve this snack for afternoon tea or as an appetizer when you have company over.

Ingredients:

1 ½ cups flour
2 tbsp corn flour
1 ½ - 1 ¾ cups water (depend how thick you want the batter)
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp turmeric powder
1 red chili – cut small
1 small onion - cut into small cubes
1 small bunch Chinese chives – cut small
15 shrimps – peeled and deveined and roughly chopped

1. Combined flours, salt, pepper, baking powder and turmeric powder. Mix well. Slowly add in the water to make a fairly thick batter. Leave the batter aside to rest for 15 minutes.
2. Add in the rest of the ingredients and stir well. Heat up some oil in a non-stick pan and drop the batter by a spoonful into the oil. Shallow fry them on both sides until golden brown.
3. Remove and drain the oil on paper towels. Serve warm with chili sauce

May2005 ) .

Thank God, it feels a little better luck than others kenkawan .

More or less the same problem jer :
1) The radiator is leaking, ( last 2 years) , I x go kat panel (art. already exhausted

4 ) Tires ? MMG problem , already change the Falken ( four bijik ) , chapter already

6 ) Oil Giler LOUD ? I've installed NGV .
installation costs RM4, 600 - amik low spec ( iron barrel , semi- auto system have
converter ) .
but :
a) Road tax can be accounted to 25%
b ) Average fuel saving viewed RM340 - RM400 per month. Many years ago Dr. Shah Alam
Damansara Heights via NKVE go back jer work viewed RM600 per month.
Previous install NGV , the cost of oil in the RM200 to RM260 per month . 4 months already installed ,
've thousand more savings , even a one-year , already cover the installation cost .
Full Tank ( RM8.50 ) , can go 150km viewed .

Most important, we face problem , we are born with FREEDOM TO
CHOOSE .
So , exercise it . Dah first select Naza Citra, face the wisely. channel

The ducks have a cosmopolitan distribution occurring across most of the world except for Antarctica. A number of species manage to live on sub-Antarctic islands like South Georgia and the Auckland Islands. Numerous ducks have managed to establish themselves on oceanic islands such as Hawaii, New Zealand and Kerguelen, although many of these species and populations are threatened or have become extinct.

Some duck species, mainly those breeding in the temperate and Arctic Northern Hemisphere, are migratory; those in the tropics, however, are generally not. Some ducks, particularly in Australia where rainfall is patchy and erratic, are nomadic, seeking out the temporary lakes and pools that form after localised heavy rain

From a practical standpoint, a modern digital sensor has about 7–9 stop tonal range. This doesn't allow us to capture wide tonal range images accurately. What we end up with in this case is an image that must favor either the shadows, or the highlights.

By using multiple exposures and merging them,  HDR allows us to extend that tonal range and capture detail all the way from the brightest highlights to the darkest shadows.

I refer to figure 1 again. In this image, we are able to see detail on the sunlit water, as well as in the shadows of the tree. If this had been shot with one capture, either the highlights would have been blown out, or the shadows would have blocked. This was shot as a 9 stop bracket, allowing good detail throughout.

There are two types of contrast ranges: Global and Localized.

The image above is an example of controlling Global contrast to achieve continuous detail throughout the image. In this case, we want to make the entire contrast range fit our output. Without this treatment, either end of the tonal range might be compromised.

But there are times when we come upon a scene that seems to have a normal tonal range, yet when we look at the file, we find that shadows have no "meat" to them or highlights are hot and lifeless.

Figure 2 is one such image. Seemingly, it has a soft tonal range, but in fact is a very complex image, encompassing at least two separate tonal ranges. This is an example of localized contrast. In it, we have the bright highlights on the steam pipes of the train. We also have micro contrast areas deep down in the shadows, which need to have detail. Global contrast is represented in the entire overall tonal range of the bright highlights down to the deep shadows. However, without attention to the localized contrast in the shadows, they would have died,

Even though this image was captured on a cloudy day, it still benefits from an HDR treatment. It is monochromatic. Yet because of all of the minute highlights and dark areas, it has  more contrast that one might think.

Shah Alam Town City

Shah Alam BW

Shah Alam is the state capital of Selangor, Malaysia situated within the Petaling District and a small portion of the neighbouring Klang District. It is located about 25 kilometres west of the country's capital, Kuala Lumpur. Shah Alam replaced Kuala Lumpur as the capital city of the state of Selangor in 1978 due to Kuala Lumpur's incorporation into a Federal Territory in 1974. Shah Alam was the first planned city in Malaysia after independence from Britain in 1957.

Malaysia grew rapidly after its independence in 1957 under the "Father of Modernisation", the second Prime Minister of Malaysia, Allahyarham Tun Abdul Razak Hussein. Shah Alam was once known as Sungai Renggam and was noted for its rubber and oil palm estates. Later, the same area was identified as Batu Tiga prior to Malaysian independence, and has been a centre of rubber and palm oil trade for centuries. The Sungai Renggam Plantation was earmarked for the development of a township by the Selangor government in 1963, and under the recommendations of V. Antolic, a town planning advisor from the United Nations, chose the present site strategically located between Kuala Lumpur and Port Klang.

Its current name was chosen by the then state Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, after his late father Sultan Alam Shah. Many other monuments, buildings and even a street are named after the late Sultan. Shah Alam was opened in 1963 with the purpose of making it the administrative centre of Selangor once Kuala Lumpur was made a Federal District on 1 February 1974. With the consent of 8th Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan of Selangor, Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Al-Haj, Shah Alam was proclaimed the capital of Selangor on 7 December 1978 with an area of 41.68 square km, and administrated by a municipal council. Shah Alam had encountered several processes of extending its areas and the last was on 1 January 1997. Through the Gazette Plan 1190, Shah Alam was extended to 293 square km

Shah Alam was granted city status on 10 October 2000 with Dato' Haji Abu Sujak Haji Mahmud as the first mayor. He recently served as deputy Menteri Besar, or Chief Minister of Selangor. Abu Sujak declared the vision of making Shah Alam a modern city with a unique identity of "Bandaraya Melayu" or Malay City, showcasing the achievements of the Malay race in all sectors. In line with this identity, Shah Alam was declared the first city in the world with no entertainment outlets to avoid any vice activities.

Shah Alam is located within the district of Petaling and a portion of the district of Klang in the state of Selangor. Due to its recent expansion, it is bordered by the cities of Subang Jaya and Petaling Jaya in the east, the district of Klang in the west, the district of Kuala Selangor and Selayang in the north, and the district of Kuala Langat in the south. Shah Alam is also one of the major cities within the Klang Valley, an area in Malaysia comprising Kuala Lumpur and its suburbs, and adjoining cities and towns in the state of Selangor, due to the Klang River flowing through it on its way westward to the Strait of Malacca.

Shah Alam has a similar urban layout to Petaling Jaya or Subang Jaya with housing areas occupying most of the city (55.2 km2) and commercial centres scattered around the different 'Seksyen' (sections).[citation needed] There are 56 sections in total. Generally Shah Alam can be divided into north, central and south part. North Shah Alam consist of 18 Sections including Sections U1 and U2 and Kampung Melayu Subang. The Central Shah Alam is the 'main' part of Shah Alam. It is where all the state administrative building and agencies are situated. It consist of Section 1 until Section 24 seen in the map as beige coloured area. South Shah Alam consists of 12 sections including Section 25(Sri Muda), Section 30 (Jalan Kebun), Section 31 (Kota Kemuning) and Section 32 (Bukit Rimau). In the map, the south Shah Alam is seen as the light purple coloured area.

The city has a number of shopping malls (Plaza Alam Sentral, (also known as PAS), SACC Mall, Plaza Shah Alam (formerly known as Shah Alam Mall, also known as Plaza Masalam), Ole-Ole Seksyen 18, Anggerik Mall and Kompleks PKNS). Vibrant commercial areas are situated mostly at the city centre (Seksyen 14), Seksyen 13 and Seksyen 9. There are no cinemas in the city.
All of the main roads and streets in Shah Alam including the new townships such as Setia Alam and Kota Kemuning have signs with their names shown in both Roman and Jawi scripts.

A Famosa Melaka - Sony Digital

A Famosa 2012

A Famosa Melaka

In 1511, a Portuguese fleet arrived under the command of Afonso de Albuquerque. His forces attacked and defeated the armies of the Malacca Sultanate. Moving quickly to consolidate his gains, Albuquerque had the fortress built around a natural hill near the sea. Albuquerque believed that Malacca would become an important port linking Portugal to the Spice Route in China. At this time other Portuguese were establishing outposts in such places as Macau, China and Goa, India in order to create a string of friendly ports for ships heading to China and returning home to Portugal.

The fortress once consisted of long ramparts and four major towers. One was a four-story keep, while the others held an ammunition storage room, the residence of the captain, and an officers' quarters. Most of the village clustered in town houses inside the fortress walls. As Malacca's population expanded it outgrew the original fort and extensions were added around 1586.

The fort changed hands in 1641 when the Dutch drove the Portuguese out of Malacca. The Dutch renovated the gate in 1670, which explains the logo "ANNO 1670" inscribed on the gate's arch. Above the arch is a bas-relief logo of the Dutch East India Company.

The fortress changed hands again in the early 19th century when the Dutch handed it over to the British to prevent it from falling into the hands of Napoleon's expansionist France. The English were wary of maintaining the fortification and ordered its destruction in 1806. The fort was almost totally demolished but for the timely intervention of Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of Singapore, who happened to visit Malacca in 1810. Because of his passion for history, this small gate was spared from destruction.

Archaeological finding

In late November 2006, a structure part of the fort, believed to be the Middelsburgh Bastion was accidentally uncovered during the construction of 110 meter revolving tower in Malacca Town. The construction of the tower was ceased and its site was subsequently shifted to the popular district of Bandar Hilir on Jalan Merdeka where it was officially opened to the public on the 18th of April, 2008. Malacca Museums Corporation suspects the structure was built by the Dutch during the Dutch occupation of Malacca from 1641 to 1824.
Earlier in June 2003, a watchtower named Santiago Bastion was discovered during the construction of Dataran Pahlawan.

The historic centre of Malacca was inscribed on the World Heritage List on 7 July 2008 together with George Town, the capital of Penang.

A population of Portuguese descent, who speak a Portuguese creole, are the descendants of colonists from the 16th and 17th centuries.Even to this day, many of the traditions originating with the Portuguese occupation are still practised, i.e. "Intrudu" from Portuguese word "Entrudo" (a water festival that marks the beginning of Lent, the Catholic fasting period), "branyu" (traditional dance), "Santa Cruz" (a yearly Festival of street celebrations). The Portuguese colonists contributed dishes like Devil's Curry and Portuguese egg tarts to the town's cuisine. Ikan Bakar (roasted fish) restaurants in Umbai, Serkam and Alai are also popular.

There is also a sizeable number of Sikhs residing in Malacca, and Sikhs from Malacca and abroad congregate in the gurdwara (Sikh temple) situated in Jalan Temenggong during the last weekend of May, to commemorate the death of its former priest, Sant Baba Sohan Singh Ji, who was elevated to a saint upon passing away. Visitors are welcome but are advised to follow rules and common practices within the premises. Typical vegetarian punjabi cuisine will be served to everyone visiting the gurdwara.

Transport

Pulau Sebang in Alor Gajah district, 30 km north of Malacca, is the nearest train station that serves Malacca. There were railway tracks from Pulau Sebang to Malacca before World War II but these were dismantled by the Japanese for the construction of the Burmese Death Railway. It was never rebuilt after the war, though traces of the line remain.

Malacca has a bus station, Melaka Sentral which has inter and intracity bus lines. Batu Berendam Airport in Batu Berendam mainly serves Pekan Baru, Subang, Medan and chartered flights from around the region. It also serves as a flight school for Malaysia Flying Academy.
The Ayer Keroh exit at the North-South Expressway is the main entry to Malacca. There are two additional exits along the North-South highway, namely the Simpang Ampat and Jasin exits.

The Mall - SonyDigital

The Mall is a shopping mall located along Jalan Putra in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is situated across the street from the Putra World Trade Centre and the Pan Pacific Hotel. The complex was built by Metroplex Holdings Sdn. Bhd. (MHSB)[1] and opened on 1987 by Mahathir bin Mohamad, the Prime Minister. At the time The Mall was the largest shopping centre in Malaysia and was built to attract more shoppers from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur.

The Mall has many specialised outlets with a variety of items such as souvenirs, clothing and antiques.
The Sunway Group had acquired the mall in March 2011 and had since took over the operations of the complex effective 1 July 2011. The complex was renamed as "Sunway Putra Mall".

Black-and-white, often abbreviated B/W or B&W, is a term referring to a number of monochrome forms in visual arts.

Black-and-white as a description may be considered something of a misnomer, in that the images are not ordinarily starkly contrasted black and white, but combine black and white in a continuum producing a range of shades of gray. Further, many prints, especially those produced earlier in the development of photography, were in sepia (mainly for archival stability), which yielded richer, more subtle shading than reproductions in plain black-and-white.

Color photography provides a much greater range of shade, but part of the appeal of black and white photography is its more subdued
