Coast fishing boat license is automatically granted

KUALA TERENGGANU June 2 - All the fishermen and crew who get RM200 a month living allowance, will be licensed boat automatically start tomorrow, said Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Datuk Noh Omar.
He said the license will be issued to owners of fishing boats and cards as the government intends to help the crew who want to become fishermen.
"They (the fishermen) is I have the boat, there are fishermen card and receive RM200 a month living allowance, but if they come, we Give the license," he said after delivering a living allowance to fishermen south of Kuala Terengganu today.
Currently, a total of 15.900 fishermen across the country have a license.
Meanwhile, Noh said the ministry was drawing up an insurance scheme to help fishermen to benefit when they are touched by distress. - Bernama
