East Coast Expressway (LPT) E8 is one of the highway network linking the east coast and west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. It is a connection to the Karak Highway, and starts from Karak to Kuala Terengganu.
On 27 April 2010, the Chairman of the Infrastructure Development and Public Facilities, Yahya Khatib Mohamad announced the LPT cost of RM3 billion and is expected to be fully operational by 2012.Panjangnya 183 km and has 10 toll plazas.
East Coast Highway is 350km (217 mile)-long 0.4-lane (two in each direction) starting from the end of the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway at Junction Karak, Pahang through Lanchang, Mentakab, Temerloh, Chenor, Maran, Sri Jaya, Gambang, Kuantan, Jabor, Chenih, Taxes, Kijal, Kerteh, Paka, Dungun, Bukit Besi, Ajil, Temelong and terminated in Chendering, near Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu.
